Truly Unique Disc Golf was started in 2014 by Derek Broockerd. Derek’s goal was to provide unique and good looking plastic to everyone without them having to pay a premium. Because Belton, Missouri, where Derek lives, is so close to Emporia, Kansas, Derek built the TU Brand by being able to drive to the Dynamic Discs Distribution Center and hand select discs for customers. This allowed TU customers to get exactly what they wanted without any added cost. In late 2018, Derek partnered with a fellow disc golfer, John Hornberger, from Waxhaw, North Carolina, to help grow the business and offer more to the loyal TU customer base. With the help of Hornberger, in November 2020 they were able to launch a brand new website, as well as open the very first Truly Unique brick & mortar store at 103 South Scott Avenue in Belton, MO. Whether you want to shop through the physical store, website, Facebook or eBay, Truly Unique has what you need!

Truly Unique Disc Golf currently sponsors players from all over the United States. However, we have also sponsored players in Finland and Canada for a more global reach. Our goal is to help amateur disc golfers be noticed and supported, as well as to recognize individuals who are strongly promoting the growth of disc golf in their communities. Truly Unique team members throw only Trilogy (Dynamic Discs, Latitude 64, Westside Discs) plastic. Trilogy is the foundation of both Truly Unique Disc Golf and the Team. TU is always looking for new players to strengthen the Team. We go through an application process, which happens at the end of every year.
